Matthew Vincent Tabilog

Matthew is an early-career marine biologist and Filipino scholar pursuing a Master of Environmental Science at Hokkaido University under the prestigious MEXT scholarship. His research focuses on blue carbon science, specifically seagrasses and mangrove forests, spanning coastal conservation, youth engagement, and carbon sequestration.
He earned his Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology from Silliman University, where he studied mangrove carbon sequestration in Bayawan City. Currently, he is Founder of Mangrove Matters PH, Chair of the EAAFP Youth Task Force, and Knowledge and Capacity Building Lead for YEW, a Ramsar youth stakeholder, driving global wetland action.
