Irrawady Dolphins Educational Discussion

Mangrove Matters PH conducted an awareness campaign in Iloilo City through flyer and poster distribution to promote the protection of the critically endangered Irrawaddy dolphins in the Iloilo–Guimaras Straits. The campaign highlighted major threats to the species, including habitat loss, pollution, climate change, net entanglement, boat strikes, and the proposed Panay–Guimaras. As part of the second phase of the initiative, the team also announced an online educational discussion via Google Meet scheduled for September 30 and October 7 and 14, 2023, which aimed to educate high school and college students about Irrawaddy dolphin conservation, threats, and protection strategies, with broader participation encouraged.
