Donate a Mangrove Seedling

During the 2025 holiday season, Mangrove Matters PH partnered with the Siit-Palipinon Mangrove Conservation Walk (SiPaMaCoWa) to conduct a community-driven mangrove seedling donation campaign in support of coastal ecosystem restoration.

The initiative invited individuals and supporters to contribute to mangrove reforestation efforts by sponsoring mangrove seedlings that would later be planted in Siaton, Negros Oriental. Funds raised through the campaign directly supported restoration activities aimed at enhancing coastal resilience, strengthening biodiversity, and promoting community participation in environmental stewardship.

The mangrove planting activity was implemented in January 2026, bringing together conservation advocates and local stakeholders in a shared effort to restore degraded coastal habitats. Beyond tree planting, the campaign served as an opportunity to raise awareness about the ecological and socioeconomic value of mangrove ecosystems, including their role in climate change mitigation, fisheries productivity, shoreline protection, and disaster risk reduction.

Through this initiative, Mangrove Matters PH and its partners demonstrated how collective action can contribute to long-term ecosystem restoration while fostering stronger connections between communities and the natural environments they depend upon.
