A Young Marine Conservationist’s Experience at the Summit

Attending the National Mangrove Youth Summit was a meaningful and enriching experience for me. I even went straight to the summit after my fieldwork in La Union for our mangrove rehabilitation project! At the summit, I was surrounded by fellow young advocates, and I was truly amazed and inspired by the passion and dedication each participant brought to the discussion on environmental conservation.

I observed that our group was diverse, as we all came from different backgrounds and had different skill sets. But I believe that we still shared one thing in common: and that is our passion for protecting the environment.

The sessions at the summit provided valuable insights into the importance of mangrove ecosystems and the crucial role that youth play in environmental protection.

In addition to the knowledge shared, the summit created a space for connecting and collaborating with experts and fellow youth advocates. After the event, I felt a renewed sense of purpose in contributing to initiatives aimed at conserving and protecting our environment, the wildlife, and the people.

I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of this summit and look forward to applying what I have learned in my own community!
